Updated version of the classic Subnetting Practice question generator by Practical Networking.

Instructions:

Each time you click "Next Problem" (or reload the page) a random IP address and CIDR value is generated.

You are then tasked to solve the Network ID, Broadcast IP, First Host IP, Last Host IP, and Next Network addresses for the target IP.

Options:

  • Auto Complete Non-Interesting Octets fills in the non-interesting octets of the given Target IP address
  • Auto-Check allows automatic checking of each answer when you complete the fourth Octet of each category

Direct Linking

This tool supports linking directly to an IP / CIDR value. Simply add ?ip=5.5.5.5/27 to the URL to go directly to this IP and Mask combination.

  • Solve for the Network ID, First Host IP, Last Host IP, Broadcast IP, and Next Network ID for the given Target IP.
